RFP - EHS Nutritional Consultation and Training
| Background | On August 22, 2025, the Early Head Start program applied for One-time Supplemental Funds for Nutrition and Healthy Eating for Head Start Children and Families. On September 22, Captain Tala Hooban, Acting Director for the Office of Head Start, sent a communication advising the program that the application submitted by the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe had been selected for funding. One of the conditions on the application submitted was to contract with a registered dietitian to provide additional support with nutritional consultations and training for parents and staff. The consultations and training would address the increasing referrals of children with eating and nutritional challenges. Additionally, the dietitian would support pregnant mothers in understanding the importance of nutrition in the prenatal and postpartum stages. |
